You want Buffy the Vampire Slayer fanfic? I got your fanfic right here,
bub.
On this page you'll be able to download my Buffy novels--and yup,
they're novels. If you're used to short fanfic, cute little vignettes,
maybe just a few pages of sassy dialogue...well, these are quite a bit
longer.
And eventually, there are going to be sixteen of them.
The books can be downloaded in their entirety or read in chapters. And
hey,
once you've started reading, why not let
me know
what you think? Love 'em, hate 'em, I'm interested in whatever you have
to say. And, you know how I did that really bad thing to your favorite
character? I didn't mean to. I'm sorry.
A quick note about these books: they're set in what I guess you would
call an alternate universe--meaning, the characters are all there (or
mostly there, one or two might be missing in this world) but their
lives have gone differently. Sometimes drastically differently. The
books begin in 1997, with a certain seventeen-year old Potential Slayer
from Boston having a very rough time of it. We follow her, and watch
her struggle to be strong, struggle to keep some hope in her heart.
And as her life unfolds and touches the lives of so many others, things
go differently in this world...and two Slayers, and everyone they care
about, are set on a very different path from the one we've
seen
before. It takes
them to some interesting places. I'll be
exploring that path in these books. For much more in-depth
info on this series, see the Mission
Statement.
The series is called Meant
To Be. Because some things are...and some things aren't...
MEANT TO BE
One: The New
World

Seventeen-year
old Faith Lehane has been living on the
streets of Boston for two years now, ever since she ran away from home,
doing
what she has to in order to survive. It’s a hard life when
you’re alone in the
world, and Faith is doing the best she can: trying to keep warm, trying
to get
some food in her belly...and hanging on by her fingernails. She gets by
on
looks and charm, luck and swagger, an ample helping of street smarts,
and most
of all, knowing when to run. But even though running is her specialty,
she can’t dodge a bullet forever: Faith's destiny
catches up
to her, and she
discovers there really are monsters in the world...and heroes to fight
them...
Enter
Rebecca Greer, Faith's Watcher. Rebecca
takes Faith in, teaches her how to fight, how to be strong...and how to
respect
herself. Because some day, Faith might become the next Slayer...
But
as
Faith was painstakingly building a life for herself, Buffy
Summers’ life was
crashing down around her: when Angel, her vampire lover, lost his soul,
he
tried to destroy Buffy and everyone Buffy cared about. Buffy
killed him,
and sent him to
hell...and lost the man she loved. Or so she
thought. Now Angel is back, with his soul restored. But the
damage has been done...and Buffy doesn’t know if she
can ever love
again...or if she can even love herself.
The
next
Slayer is called, and she just happens to be from Boston. Faith revels
in her
power, but she soon finds that being the Slayer means you have a target
on your
back. And when
Kakistos, a vampire who seemingly can’t be killed, comes
looking to destroy the
new Slayer and everyone she cares about, and the life Faith had built
for herself
comes crashing down around her, she has no choice but to run
again...and the only
way to protect the man she loves is to leave him behind.
Faith
runs to
Sunnydale...to Buffy Summers. The only person who can help
her. But
even if the two Slayers can manage to defeat Kakistos and his
followers, a far
greater threat looms...the greatest threat the world has ever known.
If Faith
and Buffy can survive it, they just might find that out of the
ashes of their old lives, they can build a new one together...

Meant To Be continues.
When last we left them, Buffy Summers and Faith Lehane had finally
stopped lying to one other, and to themselves. Two Slayers found solace
in each other, and decided they would stand together from now
on,
facing whatever life threw at them. But that solace was
shattered
by the arrival of an implacable new enemy, a bestial breed of
vampire neither Buffy or Faith had ever encountered before: stronger,
faster...and numbering in the hundreds. But these new vampires are far
from the worst threat facing the two united Slayers: a being calling
itself The First Evil is orchestrating things behind the scenes. Its
plan: to acquire the Key, an ancient artifact which can unlock the cage
holding the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse...and if they are freed, nothing can stand
against them...
But before that can happen, The First needs to capture and kill the one
person who can stop it: Willow Rosenberg...and only Faith stands in the
way.
And Willow isn't its only target. Angel is haunted by visions
of
people he's killed. Some tell him he should kill himself to
escape
the terrible guilt that's been with him ever since he was returned,
somehow, from a hell dimension, and knew he didn't deserve to be. And
others tell him he should kill Buffy...
The weight of thousands of lives is a heavy burden to bear, and it
would be so much easier just to set it down...can a man who has always
been weak decide to be strong?
Secrets are revealed, and loves, both new and old, are tested...while the world hangs in the balance.

Revelations

The
apocalypse has arrived. Buffy and Faith failed to prevent it...and now the
world is coming to an end. Darkness covers the planet, and vampires
roam at will, slaughtering people at the command of the First Evil, which
plans to destroy the human race and claim the world for itself. Even
worse, the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, unstoppable instruments of fate, have been loosed from their dimensional prison, and
wherever they ride, death follows in their wake...and all hope withers
away.
The
forces of
darkness, led by the First, are relentless; the forces of light are
scattered and demoralized. People are dying, all around the world, with
each passing second. Human civilization is collapsing. And there are
other casualties, closer to home: Xander is dead. He was the first
soldier down, but he won’t be the last.
The
world’s only hope for salvation now will not come through
force
of arms, but through piety and prayer. Because the world is coming to
its prophesied end, and only the Goddess can save it now. And there is
only one voice the Goddess will hear: Willow’s.
But
Willow has been captured by the enemy. And if she dies, the world dies
with her...
The
war for the
world is joined, and this war will be fought on multiple fronts: the
battle rages in the past and the future, across the planet...and in one
human heart. When the people we love are gone, what reason is there for
those left behind to keep fighting? If Willow can’t find the
answer to that question within herself, everybody dies...
In
the
conclusion to the first story in the Meant To Be series, our heroes
gain new allies, face new enemies...and the secret at the
heart of the world is revealed.
Nothing
will be the same.
